New York Giants (1955-56)
1955: .257 avg, 80 games, 257 at-bats
Manager: Leo Durocher. Teammates included Alvin Dark, Dusty Rhodes, Whitey Lockman and Willie Mays, who Twig calls " the best baseball player ever"
Highlights: Being chosen as the Player of the Game and interviewed by actress Larraine Day (Mrs. Leo Durocher) on her post-game show; appearing on the radio show
"Breakfast at Sardi's" with singer Eartha Kitt and actress Shirley Yamaguchi; learning the elaborate system by which the Giants stole signs from the opposing team
1956: .222 avg, 14 games, 18 at-bats
Manager: Bill Rigney. Since he wasn't playing much, Twig asked to be sent back to the Minneapolis Millers. He enjoyed playing with the Millers
and the move made him eligible to play winter ball in Venezuela.
