Charleston (W. Va.) Senators, American Association, AAA

1958: .269 avg, 146 games, 535 at-bats

Managers: Bill Norman, Bill Adair. Teammates included former New York Giants' Hank Thompson

The team, called the Charleston Senators but affiliated with the Detroit Tigers, won the American Association pennant.

Twig led the league in walks and stolen bases, scored a lot of runs, had an outstanding year defensively, and was named league MVP.

After the season, he played winter ball in Escogido, Dominican Republic.
